Fifty-one accounts' clips piled up in my queue this morning and I took four home; four of 19 launch stories survived. The clips: a neon archer shooting a man who holds a rose, a cactus man hugging a balloon, a woman taunting a giant lizard from a tree, and a cartoon family fleeing California with the problem in the trunk. The news: Google's cheaper 15-second video model, Instagram's editor on Mac, Meta's AI label switch, and AI music straight to SoundCloud. The Secret is a butcher who kept filming ribeyes.

🤖 News & Updates

Google shipped a new version of its video model, and the detail I care about is length: 15-second clips in one native run. The price fell 30% from the last version, to $0.07 a second at 720p, and you can edit a clip in a back-and-forth chat. It is live in the Gemini API, Google Vids and Gemini for business. Longer single takes are what let a sitcom beat land, and Klovera's prompts already run 20 to 28 seconds, so I write for that shape.
Instagram's standalone editing app, Edits, is now on macOS, and the part that matters is not the bigger screen. You can plug in an AI agent of your choice and have it assemble your videos; Instagram's head of product for Edits says the desktop release ships with an MCP, a standard connector that lets an AI agent drive another app. So the assistant you already talk to can cut the reel. The clips still have to come from somewhere, and I make mine in Klovera.
Meta changed its Graph and Marketing APIs, the plumbing that social media management tools use to run your Facebook and Instagram presence and ads without opening Meta's own ad manager. The one change I would notice: tools built on them can now add or remove the AI self-disclosure on a post. The catch is that other features were deprecated at the same time, so check your scheduler. That label is now yours to set from the scheduler, and the clips themselves I make in Klovera.

The problem they carry into every scene
I think every one of these four ends with someone meeting themselves. The archer, the cactus, the gloater and the family all get hurt by something they brought with them, and I believe that is why the shares are huge: you send it to the person it is about, not to someone who made it. Recognition beats resolution, and in my experience nobody shares a clip about a villain, but everybody shares one about an ex.
1. Neon archer shoots the man who brought a rose

📈 1,566,302 views · 84× @rasel_vai36's usual
▶ Watch on Instagram
I watched a glowing blue archer draw on a man holding a single rose, and he just stands there and takes every arrow she has. He kneels, offers his lit-up heart anyway, and she accepts it only as he fades, leaving her alone holding it.
“Women only realize when that man is no longer there. They don't always appreciate good men.”
— a viewer, @mey12sam1372
Why it works:
- Make the hurt one the shooter. I think putting the bow in the hurt woman's hands makes each arrow her past, not cruelty.
- Let him kneel, not leave. He kneels with the heart still glowing after the last arrow; that is the frame I would send.
- Fade him on the yes. I noticed she accepts the heart in the same second he dissolves, so win and loss land together.

2. A cactus man and the balloon he cannot hold

📈 19,920,688 views · 157× @david_j_design's usual
▶ Watch on Instagram
I found a cactus man and a balloon woman on a greenhouse bench, hands bound in ribbon so his spines cannot reach her. She floats up, he pulls her back into the hug he waited for, it pops her, and a flower blooms on him.
“Don’t be long, where you don’t belong.”
— a viewer, @resilient_____tallawah
Why it works:
- Tie the hands first. I think the ribbon in frame one sets the rule, so the hug lands as the breach you dreaded.
- Make her leave by floating. She drifts up without a word, so to me holding on looks like love until the pop.
- Give him the flower after. One pink bloom opens on him over the deflated balloon, which I read as the loss changing him.

3. She taunts the giant lizard, then the branch cracks

📈 3,429,253 views · 51× @brain.glitch_ml's usual
▶ Watch on Instagram
I watched a woman whoop on a flying pterosaur, fall into a river and find a giant komodo in it with her. She scrambles up a tree, tells the big ugly lizard it cannot climb, and the branch breaks under her.
“Nah I need a full movie im fully invested”
— a viewer, @vontastic5
Why it works:
- Start mid-scream. She laughs that she is flying and screams in the same breath, so I had nothing to skip.
- Let her gloat out loud. The line about not climbing goes straight at the lizard, and I felt the fall was earned.
- End on the eye contact. It ends face to face with the komodo and a quiet oh no; I wanted no rescue.

4. Cartoon family flees California and takes it with them

📈 10,251,840 views · 23× @dr.clownphd's usual

I opened on a smug cartoon family posing by their vote sign while a car window shatters behind them within seconds. They move to Texas, vote the same way, watch Texas turn into California, and head for Florida to fix it.
“I’m from Texas I’m so proud of Florida”
— a viewer, @justusrubiooo
Why it works:
- Break the window on the cheer. The glass shatters mid-whoop, so I was laughing before anyone said a line of argument.
- Repeat the exact same scene. Texas gets the same smashed window and the same cry, and to me the repeat is the argument.
- Cut before Florida. It ends as they announce Florida, so I finish the joke myself and tag whoever moved.

[GOAL]
Format: sitcom. 9:16 vertical, 27 seconds, one continuous take. For: a family-owned mattress store in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The video: gets tired shoppers to come in for a free sleep fitting instead of blaming the bed. A man returns a third mattress complaining he cannot sleep, and the owner finds the real problem in his hoodie pocket.
[CHARACTERS]
@Justin-time (the sleepless customer): rumpled gray hoodie, navy sweatpants, white socks in slides. @Natasha (the store owner): black blazer over a white tee, dark jeans, reading glasses on a chain.
[LOCATION]
A mattress showroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma, mid-morning, overcast. Flat white daylight from the front windows, rows of beds with price tags on stands, a red Sale banner, a coffee pot on the counter.
[SHOTS]
0–7 s, medium shot, slow push in: @Justin-time drags a mattress through the door with bags under his eyes and drops it. @Justin-time: "Third one. Still awake at four every night."
7–14 s, two-shot, static: @Natasha walks over, pats the mattress, then looks at him instead. @Natasha: "The beds are fine. Let me see your pockets."
14–21 s, close on hands, slight tilt up: he pulls out a phone, a second phone, an energy drink and a bag of chips. @Justin-time: "I only scroll till I fall asleep."
21–27 s, medium, static: she slides the phone across the counter, far from him, points at a bed, and he lies down and is out before she finishes. @Natasha: "Lie down. Phone stays here. Fittings are free."
[LOOK]
Clean digital, soft daylight with a warm counter lamp, 35mm, no grain.
[SOUND]
Quiet showroom hum, a mattress thudding on the floor, a zipper and a crinkling chip bag, the lines, music: light pizzicato comedy, about 110 BPM, playful.

🤫 The Daily Secret
Sell the cut nobody asks for
A butcher wrote to me last week from a two-counter shop in a strip mall. His question was whether AI could make his ribeyes look as good on a phone as they do under his lights, because every reel he had posted was a slab of marbled steak and none of them had moved anything. I went through his feed. Forty reels, forty ribeyes, a few briskets, one tomahawk held up like a trophy.
I told him the ribeye was never the problem, and it was never the opportunity either. Everyone who wants a ribeye already knows where to get one and was going to buy it anyway. The money in a butcher shop is in the cuts that sit: the chuck eye, the oxtail, the beef cheeks, the ends he grinds on Tuesday because nobody asked for them by Monday. Those cuts have no story on his feed, which is why they have no buyers. Most shops film what sells. I would film what does not, and give it a grudge.
