Put a video on your eBay listing in 15 minutes

Hey everyone, this is Adam Ginsberg. For more than two decades I’ve been showing people how to start and grow their own eCommerce business.

From 2001 to 2004 I sold more than $20,000,000 on eBay — long before selling on eBay became a “thing.” I wrote the best-selling eBay book of all time, “How to Buy, Sell & Profit on eBay,” and I’ve been telling people since 2005 to add video to their eBay listings.

With that said, most people either don’t think it’s possible or they don’t know how to do it. This is your chance to learn how you can scale your business and take it to the next level.

As a side note, this strategy works on eBay, Walmart, Shopify, Poshmark and Amazon. This newsletter is simply using eBay as a reference point.

To get started you have two options. First, you can film the video yourself, host it, and then upload it to your eCommerce platform of choice. And while that’s definitely an option for some, there is a much better solution.

Using a platform like Klovera — see below for a free 30-day trial — you can create an incredible product video in less than 15 minutes, complete with your product IN the video, captions, and the embed code necessary for eBay.

Now, let’s get started.

This is my own Vegan Omega 3 listing on eBay. The video sits second in the photo gallery, and it plays again at the top of the description. I made it in Klovera, and here is every step, exactly as I did it.

Why video on eBay

73% of shoppers say they're more likely to buy after watching a video that explains the product.

85% of people say a brand's video has convinced them to buy.

Fewer surprises at the door. Buyers see the real item, moving, in someone's hand, at its real size, before they pay.

It works in your ads too. eBay now plays listing videos in Promoted Listings with a priority strategy, wherever the placement supports video.

The five steps

1Copy your listing's link

Open your listing on eBay and copy the address at the top of the browser. It looks like this: ebay.com/itm/406684826501

2Quick make: paste the link, add your product photo

In Klovera, press Create, then Quick make. Paste the link into Paste a product link. eBay doesn't let us pull the picture, so type the product's name and add your product photo. That's the only extra step on eBay.

Quick make with the eBay link pasted, asking for the product photo

Then write one line about the product in Your idea and pick a tone.

Quick make filled in: the idea, the product from the link, and a tone

3Read the outline

Press Create my outline. It's free, and it takes about a minute. You get the video beat by beat, in plain words. Change any line, or tell Klovera what to change.

4Generate, and watch it render

Press Generate. You see the cost first: about 44 credits at 480p for mine. Every beat renders, and each one shows the time it has left.

The cost before Generate: about 44 credits, approximate Assemble, with both beats rendering and the time left on each

5Download it, add it to your listing, paste the video into the description

Press Stitch reel. In Output, press Upscale to 1080p, then Download the 1080p.

Output: the stitched reel, upscaled to 1080p, ready to download

On eBay, edit your listing. Under Photos & Video, press Add video and upload the file. It shows in the photo gallery.

Back in Klovera, press Embed, turn Share on and copy For eBay and HTML editors. Paste it into your eBay description's HTML view, and the video plays at the top of your description too.

My tip: 9:16 vertical plays best on phones, where most eBay buyers are.

The reality is that less than 20% of the people receiving this email will actually open it. So, congratulations if you’ve read this far — it puts you in an elite group of people who are serious about learning.

Of the 20 percent who read this newsletter, less than 15 percent will actually take action and implement the ideas and strategies. For those of you who do, congrats, and I can’t wait to hear about your success.

One final point: Klovera.ai is a powerful tool that goes far beyond creating videos for eBay listings. It is, simply put, the most powerful software of its kind, and the more you use it, the more you’ll appreciate just how much value it provides.
